Leading listed online gaming operator PartyGaming has announced a cooperation agreement with Intralot that will see the two explore opportunities for providing online gaming services to specific markets around the world.
The five-year deal with PartyGaming’s new business-to-business unit contains an option that could see it extended further and will begin in Italy where the two firms are set to launch a virtual poker tournament service together.
Intralot is a Greek developer and supplier of gaming and transaction processing systems and revealed that the new Intralot Poker service will be the first member of PartyGaming’s poker network in Italy.
“Our agreement with Intralot represents another significant step for us as we aim to create a strong business-to-business operation,” said Jim Ryan, Chief Executive Officer for PartyGaming.
“We are excited about exploring opportunities with Intralot, a leading global gaming technology and services provider, which has a presence in more than 50 countries worldwide, an extensive business-to-government operation as well as an established and high-growth presence in the Italian market.”
Intralot’s Italian subsidiary currently offers sportsbetting and horseracing services online as well as through 600 exclusive and non-exclusive betting points-of-sale. This extensive retail network will be utilised to promote the new online Intralot Poker service throughout the Mediterranean nation using a series of marketing initiatives. Intralot revealed that online poker sales in Italy are estimated to reach approximately €1.5 billion this year, exceeding initial forecasts.
“We are very excited about our partnership with PartyGaming, one of the world’s leading operators offering high-quality online gaming solutions,” said Constantinos Antonopoulos, Chief Executive Officer for Athens-based Intralot.
“We are confident that our first cooperation in Italy will set the basis of a fruitful partnership in various markets globally and will enhance Intralot’s own online gaming solutions and services.”
