The new Women in Poker Hall of Fame launched last week, with a luncheon, ceremony, and small poker tournament, to celebrate some of the top females in the Poker world. The selection included Susie Isaacs, Linda Johnson, Marsha Waggoner, and Barbara Enright.

New inductees to the Women in Poker Hall of Fame are required to meet certain criteria – they must be, or have been, in the last 15 years active as a player, or participate in the industry in some other way, and they must have made a significant contribution to the industry. They must also be a proponent of women's poker.

In 2007, Barbara Enright was the first woman to be inducted into the Poker Hall of Fame. The new Women in Poker Hall of Fame is a way for other women in the industry to be recognized for their contributions.

Susie Isaacs has written several poker books, won two World Series of Poker ladies events, and has finished 10th in the main event of the World Series of Poker.

Linda Johnson is another WSOP bracelet holder, and now serves as the studio announcer for the World Poker Tour. She is also a WPT Boot Camp Instructor, and holder of the Brian Saltus award for class and dignity at the poker table.

It is hoped that the new Women in Poker Hall of Fame will encourage more women to enjoy the sport, and honor the contributions of ladies currently playing.
